UpSkill Digital won the Skills Bootcamp tender as part of the government’s Plan for Jobs. The aim of the programme was to empower marginalised groups and those who felt adversely affected by the digital divide, to develop their skill set, gain practical hands-on experience so that they could find better career opportunities, and meet employers that could help them secure meaningful employment.
Solution
Using targeted recruitment UpSkill sourced delegates across deprived communities in London. Learners joined the Skills LaunchPad programme, offering an in-depth insight into important aspects of digital marketing, and worked on client-facing projects to increase their industry experience. Upskill Digital worked directly with companies to understand talent requirements and secured interviews for attendees.

Santander Breakthrough is a women leaders mentorship programme that has championed the cause of women in business since its inception in 2011.
Challenge
As part of a continued commitment to supporting female entrepreneurship, Santander were looking to raise awareness around financial support and debt management, to assist Black women business owners in 2021.
Santander approached UpSkill Digital to develop a three month pilot initiative to empower Black women business owners to face financial challenges and manage the benefits of borrowing.

Walmart Inc. is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores from the United States, headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas
Challenge
Upskill Digital partnered with Walmart in supporting their ILE program with Inclusive leadership training.
A training programme was created that aimed to shift the mindset of Leaders across America and Canada to showcase how meaningful DEI is for Walmart, which is truly reflective of where Walmart would like to be moving into 2022.
Solution
A series of practical workshops were delivered such as Leading Diverse Teams, Culturally Conscious Communication and Championing Allyship accompanied by practical tips that could be implemented immediately in the workplace.
The sessions were led by U.S.-based trainers who encouraged the attendees to join in meaningful discussions and activities.

HSBC is one of the world’s largest and most recognisable banking and financial services organisations with over 200,000 employees worldwide.
Challenge
HSBC approached Upskill with the purpose of expanding on their current CMB Engage Programme. Building a custom training program to help HSBC’s cohort of 550 leaders initially to help HSBC become more comfortable speaking/handling issues in regards to race, managing diverse teams, allyship, self-awareness, language and bias.
Solution
Upskill Digital delivered 20 x co-facilitated workshops on Inclusive leadership and communication (Leading the Change). These interactive session in which senior leaders and people managers were given the space to explore definitions of inclusive leadership, utilizing slido and breakout rooms discovering some of the ways in which they can manage diverse teams effectively and discuss the roles of inclusive communication and cultural intelligence.
The sessions were designed to provide attendees with opportunities to share insights, discuss ideas as a collective and develop their inclusive leadership skills in a safe, open, supportive environment through uncomfortable thought provoking scenarios.

Fujitsu has been committed to developing a diverse and enabled workforce from the widest talent pools. The organisation promotes respect for people and equal opportunities for all. To continue maintaining this approach; Fujitsu connected with Upskill with the purpose of creating an Inclusive leadership workshop to assist in upskilling Fujistu’s global people managers from all the organisation’s offices across the world. This one-off session was tailored to help them identify and focus on goals and barriers to inclusion across the organisation.
Solution
Upskill Digital delivered 1x 90 mins co-facilitated workshops on Inclusive leadership and communication. This interactive session enabled and equipped Fujitsu People Managers with the key principles and values to lead Inclusively.
The session took a deep dive into the definition of inclusive leadership and allowed the people managers to open up and describe what it meant to them. Breakout rooms were utilized to allow them to discuss amongst themselves; the steps they can take to lead diverse teams successfully. One of the highlight of the session was an extensive conversation between the UpSkill facilitators and people managers on the impact of bias and the ways in which it can affect their leadership across regions. This topic area created numerous talking points and food for thought which lead into discovering the role of cultural intelligence (CQ) when leading teams. Many of the participants were not aware of CQ therefore this section of the session proved eye-opening.
